Like every makeup lover out there, I’ve always been obsessed with the idea of having that Pinterest perfect “get ready” space. FINALLY after moving into my new house I was able to make this a reality. Sure I couldn’t dedicate an entire room for strictly makeup and clothes, but I was able to work with what I have. I transformed my 12 x 10 ft spare bedroom into not only a spare, but also an office/craft space and makeup vanity.
This goes to show that you don’t need tons of space or your dream house to create the makeup vanity you want. I was able to create a trendy office/vanity in just one corner of my spare bedroom while fitting a full size bed and dresser (still in the works of finishing, more pictures to come).
One thing I decided was very important for me was to have my desk area “separate” from the vanity. I dabbled with the idea of having a mirror above the desk, but I really wanted a work/craft space that wasn’t completely combined with my makeup area (because we all know how hard it is to keep our makeup clean and organized). The desk I ordered from Amazon was perfect for this vision! The shelving on the side made it possible for me to have a hidden storage area for my makeup and skincare products and it only required me to use a small amount of the desk space. I also really like sitting close to the mirror when I do my makeup so the stool in front of the full length mirror works wonders.
Pops of blush pink and light turquoise among the white and gold helped give the space a fresh and airy feel. These soft colors combined with white faux fur accents allow it to feel clean and open without being too overwhelming. The delicate wall decor and decorations bring inspiration and a simply pretty aesthetic. The gallery wall of hanging pictures and the “knick knacks” on the shelf are exclusively from At Home, the home decor superstore. Most people will spend time collecting items here and there (which is good, and better for budgeting), but At Home had so many options of things I loved that I was able to decorate the entire wall space with one sweep.
Of course there are a few things I would probably change about my office/vanity area if I had a larger room and more flexibility with where I can put things, but I was able to create my vision with the limited space I had. Now I have a room just for me and I couldn’t be more in love with it! ❤
